New: GIG’s “2nd Annual 24hr Music Expo” April 4rth!!!

Due to the current Japan Earthquake and Tsunami crisis, UNICEF on Campus will donate all proceeds from our “Hot Dog and Green Soda Sale” (March 15, PM- Nat and Liz), #2 Star Craft Tournament (March 20th, PM-Yves Lau), Dynamis info. session (March 30th, PM- Ryan Lo), the “2nd Annual 24hr Music Expo” (April 4, GIG), and UNICEF on Campus 3on3 Basketball Tournament (April 9, PM – Kirtbir, Anela, Thompson) to the General Emergency Fund, which will deploy if Japanese government asks.

UNICEF on Campus presents: 2011 Basketball Tournament

Are you good at basketball… fantastic at basketball… phenomenal at basketball?! Think you got the skills to win the UNICEF on Campus 2011 Basketball Tournament?!

Make a team and come show us your skills!!!

Date: April 9, 2011
Location: University of Calgary, Red Gym
Time: 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Registration from 1:00-2:00pm, games begin at 2:00pm and ends at 5:30pm. Volunteers help take down and clean up between 5:30-6:00pm

– EVENT OUTLINE –

Team rules:
– Teams of 3-4 players: 3 players, 1 sub.

Prizes:
– Winning team receives a cash prize: 50% of all funds raised

Registration:
– $10.00 per team member.
– You will pay on the day of the game.
– Please message one of the PMS to register. Include your team name, and the names of your team members. Team members do not have to be a U of C students.

Depending on how many teams register, we may have to cap it at 20 teams. So please register ASAP!

Equipment:
– You are welcome to bring your own basketball; we will be providing them as well.
– Gym Attire required.
– Bring your own Jersey or wear coloured shirts.

GAME RULES
1. Teams will be trusted to play responsibly and honestly, as we will not be keeping score or have referees.

2. Teams will play Round Robyn

3. Games will be played to 11 points (1 point per basket)

UNICEF on Campus and The Hip Hop and Funk Styles Club is proud to present our annual dance battle: IT TAKES 2 in support of UNICEF’s Gifts of Education Campaign.

Think you’ve got what it takes to win a $500 prize in a 2 on 2 ALL STYLES BATTLE? Then bring it on!

  • Competitors will need to register between 3:00-3:45pm

The cap will be at 16 crews. Any sign-ups after will be wait-listed

Volunteering opportunities include:

  • Set up and Take down:volunteers would need to be there 2 hours before and up to 2 hours after the event to help put up and take down decorations and any other
  • Reception: helping competitors check in/ticket sales at the doors
  • Information Kiosk: spreading awareness about Education/helping out with intermission events.

UNICEF on Campus: St. Patrick’s Day Hot Dog and Green Soda Sale!!! Tuesday, March 15th!!!

I know, I know. Random?! Well… who is a little bit tired of our usual bake sales with cupcakes and cookies?!… I love em cupcakes, but its nice to have something different!!!

UNICEF on Campus is getting a little festive with St. Patrick’s day by selling some yummy green soda to go with the colour theme associated with the festive day and hot dogs!!!

Why hot dogs?! Good question. Answer: because its not cupcakes and who doesn’t… like a yummy hot dog on the random occasion!!!

The 7th Annual Martini Challenge – in support of UNICEF’s Walk for Water Campaign

Let your tastebuds be the judge! The 7th annual Martini Challenge is hosted at The Mansion on March 26, 2011 (Doors open @ 8pm). Come try out different martinis, have fun while supporting UNICEF!

Judge’s Pass is $15.00 each and it includes cover and 8 or more martinis. All proceeds are going towards UNICEF’s Walk for Water Campaign
